The Skye Flag story

The Skye Flag, designed by nine year old Calum Alasdair Munro, was selected by popular vote from 369 competition entries in 2020. More than 7000 votes were cast.

The flag, recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, Scotland’s legal authority on heraldic matters, is inspired by Skye’s Celtic and Nordic heritage. The boat in the top left is a traditional Birlinn and its five oars represent the five areas or wings of Skye.
